Early laminated wood has cross hatched lines on face, quite unique since face has insert. The cross hatching began
earlier and with laminated woods with plastic whipping covers out in the early 40's, it is possible this design is of that
vintage. A horizontal lined 1552 came out in the late 40's so that brackets the release date of this model. Hogan became
a MacGregor staffer in 1938. Overall, good wood with one shallow gouge in heel at sole. Great crown decal. Good
whipping cover. Shaft good but some chrome chipping on underside mostly at head end; reasonable chrome sparkle.
Replaced Neuman leather wrap grip is excellent. This wood is hittable as is.
