Fine condition for this hard to find innovative putter designed/patented by Dave Pelz in 1974. Pelz is renowned by pros as the expert on the short game. His first model of 'the Teacher' functions as shown in the images. You practice with the clip protruding in the front and play with the clip reversed. The USGA didn't like the 'adjustable' nature of the putter so Pelz created a ridge in the clip cavity so you'd need a separate clip for the front and the back (2 clips) which was acceptable (amazingly) to the USGA. Most owners cut a second channel in the clip to make it work with one clip, as originally designed. This all original specimen has the 2 clip channels in a single clip, a flawless unstepped steel shaft and very fine Pelz flat top rubber grip.. Note that Pelz offerred 3 clips which vary the margin for stroke error - the better the stroker - the tighter the margin. Two time US Open winner Andy North was a key advocate of the 'Teacher' along with top money winner Tom Kite. This putter is putter 33 1/2".in length. The putter is described in Pelz's book 'Putt like the Pros'.
