This used to be 'the ball' for better players in the 60's and 70's. By making the windings tighter and cover thinner, it became the 'black' titleist DT 100, which was the popular ball for tour pros, with a compression measure of 100 vs 90. Both, however, were easy to cut due to a softer rubber cover called Balata, a problem essentially solved by Dupont's surlyn material. |
