52 degree 9 iron from Wright & Ditson. In the late 30's and 40's, the putter '9' became the iron '9' with a loft at least a current day PW loft or greater. That's why many early sets don't need a modern day wedge. Large blade with sweet spot target. Long, pinned hosel. Good ferrule and good, totally tarnished seamless steel shaft. Extra-fine 12" leather wrap grip with whipped collar and excellent wood endplug. Note the very thin top line. Flat sole with no bounce. 36" length. |
